W e are a privately held, family owned business based out of our office in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Founded in 2012, Trustient provides virtually the same services as many other companies in the industry, the goal has always been to do so in a way that is far different than other organizations. The truth of the matter is that despite the tremendous changes in technology over the last ten years this industry, in particular the home care segment, has been operating with an antiquated business model. Companies are in the paper shipping and storage business as much as they are in the business of taking care of others. Overwhelmingly this industry remains far behind hospitals and other forward looking medical practices who have adopted technology as a way to differentiate themselves. Healthcare is one of the most regulated industries in the country and new legislation looks to regulate it even further looking into the future.
With this in mind we decided to make a large investment in technology to allow us to offer similar services that are available through competitors, but do so in a fundamentally different manner. It is our goal to be a completely paper free enterprise as we continue to mature as an organization. All of our direct care staff in our home care division currently document their daily notes as well as time and attendance via a GPS enabled mobile application that is easily downloaded onto their smart phone free of charge. The feedback from our direct care staff has been overwhelmingly positive as they are able to create a more robust note documenting the services they provided in a given day in a fraction of the time it used to take them to do it on paper. This allows far more time doing what they should be doing and what they are best at…providing excellent care.

In the coming months we are going to continue to expand on our investment in technology as we will soon be utilizing the same application for our clinical supervisors to document all admissions, supervisory visits and assessments as well as offering the data in real time to all external partners involved with a clients care team. This will allow Trustient to provide detailed information regarding a client status to the insurance company, primary care physician, discharge planner, social worker, family or any other interested party via a password protected web portal.
